An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to police.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.
Police detained a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
