Automobiles in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police stated they were notified by a individual who noticed a car in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they reported in a statement.

Law enforcement say they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a red-colored liquid.

The liquid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Officers then discovered numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its source; officials are currently not aware of any harm in association with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking political figure commented the vandalism made him without words and required to be solved quickly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter aiming at individuals of migrant background in February 2020.
