The star has handed over the entirety of his £25,000 honor winnings to the trust for venues, which functions to save the United Kingdom's independent live music spots.
Fender was awarded the prize on mid-October as his new release People Watching was declared the top album of the last 12 months.
Fender has opted to give the cash to the trust, in recognition of the essential function grassroots venues played in his beginning days.
"I would not have achieved my current career if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the region, and beyond, when I was just getting going," said Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."
Since the start of 2023, over 150 of these venues have permanently closed – roughly one-sixth of the entire UK sector.
Recently, major artists including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to keep the scene afloat, by adding a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which supports smaller concert halls.
He also took part, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to support thirty-eight grassroots venues across England, Scotland, and Wales.
These funds helped locations that were confronting imminent closure due to challenges arising from flooding, fires and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, conflicts and neighbor objections.
Other venues received funding support in upgrading amenities and gear that positively impacted performers and fans.
"The idea that money from performances in big venues helps the independent spots, where it all starts for performers like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has stated.
Fender is far from the only musician to contribute his honor winnings to good deeds.
Back when they won the prize in 1996 for their album the album, lead singer Cocker stated that the band would contribute their prize money to the non-profit War Child.
During 2002, artist she divided her bounty across multiple organizations, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell organization.
"Additionally, I contributed a £1,000 to Highgate Newtown, to their gymnastics class, because I practiced gymnastics when I was growing up and they required new equipment," the artist explained to a publication.
Two years ago, the band contributed their winnings to the community center that nurtured their act, in addition to other local music groups.
And the 1994 recipients M People contributed their award to a MS organization after a acquaintance was diagnosed the illness.
"The victory was quite enough," stated vocalist Small. "The prize was the cherry on top but we didn't require the cherry, because we had the cake. So our success touched another person's life."
Last week, the trust shared it had rescued several local spots in that region, by transferring them to local control.
The Joiners in that area and the other in Bristol were acquired under the community ownership scheme, which is backed by the arts council and supporters who acquire "shares" in the buildings.
